Marvel fans eagerly anticipating the release of the highly anticipated Phase Five film, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania can now breathe a sigh of relief as the movie is set to release on the streaming platform Disney+.
The announcement was made by Disney CEO Bob Chapek, who revealed during an investor call that the film would debut exclusively on Disney+ in late 2023, following a theatrical release earlier in the year.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is the third instalment in the Ant-Man franchise and features Paul Rudd returning as the titular hero alongside Evangeline Lilly as The Wasp, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne. The film is directed by Peyton Reed, who also helmed the previous two entries in the series.
Details about the plot of the film are being kept tightly under wraps, but it is expected to explore the Quantum Realm in more depth and potentially set up the introduction of new characters and storylines in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The decision to release Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania on Disney+ follows a similar strategy for other Marvel films, such as Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which were released in theaters and on the streaming platform simultaneously.
Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be eagerly awaiting the release of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which is sure to be a major event in the Phase Five slate of films. With Paul Rudd and the rest of the cast returning, as well as new additions to the franchise, the film is sure to be a thrilling addition to the Marvel canon.
