China has set a date for the theatrical release of “Avatar: The Way of Water,” which is anticipated to take place on December 16. Through an official post on one of China’s most popular social media platforms, 20th Century Studios announced the release date and shared the trailer and a new poster for the movie.

China Film Co.’s shares increased by more than 6% after the announcement, although Business Standard also noted that the competitive landscape is still hazy because a number of big-budget movies were refused screenings in China. Since the pandemic’s start, China’s theatres have been subject to rigorous Covid-19 regulations. Numerous movie releases have been postponed nationwide because of the surge in Covid cases, which has cost the industry money. Additionally, Avatar is one of the select few films that met all the requirements for release, but the nation is eager to see the release of its sequel. The first Avatar film won numerous accolades.

Avatar: The Way Of Water, often known as Avatar 2, is now available for pre-booking in India. On December 16, the movie from 20th Century Studios will be released in India and will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
