In a recent interview with MTV News, the “Wednesday” actor Jenna Ortega asserted that she and Christina Ricci never contrasted their performances of the Wednesday Addams, even on the set of their new Netflix programme based on the character.

The actress admitted that she and Ricci, who played Wednesday in the 1991 film The Addams Family and its 1993 follow-up Addams Family Values, never discussed their characters’ links on the Netflix show’s set. The Addams Family universe first debuted as a 1964 television series.

Ortega adds, “I think when she was on set, neither one of us said ‘Wednesday’ once to each other. I think because she knew not to say anything to me because what is she gonna say or do? And I don’t think she wanted to get in the way of my performance and feel like she was overbearing,” to the host’s question if she ever approached Ricci for suggestions on how to play Wednesday.

Likewise, Ortega experienced the same discomfort when discussing the matter with Ricci, who in the show portrays Marilyn Thornhill, the dorm mom at Nevermore Academy.

However, Ricci appeared to be pleased with Ortega’s performance because she called the actress “amazing” in the play during an interview with a reputable news source.
