Kris Wu to face 13 years of imprisonment!

The Chinese-Canadian musician and actor Kris Wu was found guilty of alleged rape and group licentiousness on Friday and given a 13-year prison sentence by a Chinese court. Wu was detained and officially charged in August of last year, and his case was heard in a closed-door hearing in June. Investigations revealed that the 32-year-old former member of the K-pop group EXO had raped three women between November and December 2020, according to the court in the Chaoyang district and according to the court orders, he will be deported after serving his term.

A social media influencer in the beauty sector brought accusations against Wu in July 2021. She accused Wu not only of raping her when she was 17 and intoxicated but also of doing the same to other young girls. She said that two more of them were minors. Wu initially refuted the accusations, but two weeks later, the Chaoyang District People’s Procurator in Beijing released a formal announcement announcing that Wu’s arrest had been authorised.
