Hugh Grant, who played the famous dance scene in the classic Christmas movie Love Actually, confesses he didn’t want to perform it. One of the most recognisable moments from the 2003 film “Love Actually,” in which actor Hugh Grant made his acting debut, is the dancing scene.

Deadline reports, Hugh Grant initially refused to have the sequence filmed, as per Richard Curtis, the movie’s writer and director, who also claims that he was cranky the day of the shoot and hoped Curtis would get sick or anything in order to forfeit the dancing scene.

Grant further stated, “I saw it in the script and I thought, ‘Well, I’ll hate doing that. I didn’t fancy doing the dance at all, let alone rehearsing it… And to this day, there are many people, and I agree with them, who think it’s the most excruciating scene ever committed to celluloid. But then some people like it.”

Grant portrayed David, the UK Prime Minister who develops feelings for a younger member of his domestic staff, in the 2003 holiday movie. The romantic comedy film, which was directed by Richard Curtis, stars Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Liam Neeson, and Grant. The plot revolves around nine interrelated love stories of all kinds, including romantic, familial, and platonic relationships.
