Cryotherapy skin treatment

Liquid nitrogen is the most popular and efficient cryogen for clinical application. Cryotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment that uses extremely cold liquid or devices (cryogen) to freeze skin surface lesions. As a cheap, easy, and generally safe treatment for a range of skin disorders as well as some cancers, such as liver and prostate cancer, cryotherapy is an effective substitute for more intrusive treatment alternatives. This therapy can treat tissue that is outwardly (on the skin) or internally (inside the body), and if the tissue is externally (on your skin), your therapist will normally apply the freezing agent using a spraying device or a cotton swab.

The treated region will turn red and perhaps blister after cryotherapy for an external skin problem, but any minor discomfort should subside within about three days. In one to three weeks, the scab that forms on the treated region will disappear.
